On the afternoon of September 11, the fourth offline thematic shooting activity of the Third "Beijing - A Global City" Short Video Contest was held. Thirty-two journalists from 30 countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, visited the Beijing Polytechnic. They visited three major schools, namely the School of Automotive Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the School of Art and Design to gain a deeper understanding of Beijing's internationalized higher vocational education.
One prominent feature of the School of Automotive Engineering is the internationally leading school-enterprise cooperation practice, which has established in-depth cooperative relationships with more than ten world-renowned automobile companies. In the School of Automotive Engineering, foreign journalists recorded various details with their cameras and highly praised the school's internationalized teaching cooperation mode and excellent research and development capabilities.
In the comprehensive skills training room of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the teaching and training platform incorporating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine vision, digital twin, MES system, industrial Internet of Things, and so on amazed foreign journalists. They believed that it is precisely this kind of practical education following the frontiers of scientific and technological development that could cultivate a large number of composite and innovative technological and skillful talents.
In the various exhibition areas of the School of Art and Design, foreign journalists visited the film and television costume works, fashion works, and traditional handicraft works designed by teachers and students of the school. The exquisite works of art in the exhibition area overwhelmed visitors, and the exhibition hall was filled with the excited clicking of cameras as foreign journalists captured the beauty of these art creations.
"What impressed me the most is that Beijing Polytechnic has signed relevant cooperation agreements with universities in countries such as Canada, Tunisia, and Morocco. Foreign students can learn the latest professional skills in power engineering here." Ibrahim Rabhi, a reporter for Tunisian African Presse (TAP), said. The foreign journalists unanimously expressed that through this visit, they deeply felt the fruitful achievements of Beijing's vocational education. In the future, they will pass these advanced experiences to the world through their respective media platforms to further promote cooperation and exchanges in education between China and other countries.
